 Beam Pockets For Poured Walls

Beam Pocket is available in either disposable or reusable formats, that can be nailed to a plywood form to create a blockout in a concrete wall for beam placement.

Wrong Way!

There are a lot of ways to create beam pockets in a poured concrete wall. The above methods are obviously not among the correct ways! These pockets were created using sections of 2x4s. Removal of the makeshift forms resulted in very uneven pockets and large chips at the corners and edges.

Right Way!

The beam pocket shown to the right was formed using a corrugated Beam Pocket from SureVoid.

The resulting pocket is precisely sized and shaped, with corners and edges that are straight and true. To avoid spalding (chipping at the corners and edges) during form removal, SureVoid Beam Pocket forms have tapered sides.

The savings in time alone more than outweigh the cost of materials required to do the job right.
